Working with Collections
To help you organize and analyze your data, you can create a collection from existing clips and create nested collections.

 

Creating a Collection from Existing Clips
You can manually create collections from existing clips. Additionally, you can move clips or collections from one collection to another collection.

To create a new collection from existing clips

  1. On the data window, right-click "Collections" (see the figure on the right).
  2. Select Add Collection.
    Note: You will see the "Add Collection" box (see the figure below).
  3. In the "Collection ID" box, enter the title for the collection you are adding to Transana.
  4. In the "Owner" box, enter your name or the person's name who is responsible for the collection.
  5. On the data window, click on a clip (see the figure on the right).
  6. Hold down the Ctrl key in Windows or the Option key on a Macintosh.
  7. Drag the clip you selected to the new collection you created.
  8. Click Yes to copy the clip.

Additionally, you can drag and drop existing clips and collections to
different collections.

Creating nested collections
To nest a collection with another collection,

  1. On the data window, right-click you collection name (see the figure above).
  2. Select Add Nested Collection.
    Note: On the data window, you will see that your collection name
    has become a nested collection.
