Transana's Data window has four tabs.
The Database tab: displays the organizational structure of all of Transana's data in a tree format and is always available.
The Episode Clips tab: displays information about what Clips you create from loaded Episodes and is available when an Episode is loaded.
The Selection Clips tab: displays information about what Clips you create from loaded Episodes and is available when an Episode is loaded. This list changes as the Episode plays, whenever you place the cursor in the Transcript, or whenever you select a location in the Visualization or Video windows.
The Keywords tab: displays information about the keywords you apply to the loaded Episode or Clip and is available when an Episode or a Clip is loaded. You can edit a keyword list by right-clicking within the list and selecting "Edit" from the pop-up menu. Keywords can be deleted by right-clicking them and selecting "Delete."

The Database tab helps you organize and manipulate your data. It is arranged in a tree structure, with the following possible nodes:

In the Database tab, you can manipulate most elements through their right-click menus in the Data window. The elements vary depending on the type of object you select. (Macintosh users should press Ctrl-click instead of right-click.) Typically, each element also has a default behavior that you can access by double-clicking the element. For Transcripts and Clips, the default behavior is to load and display the appropriate element in Transana, while the remaining items default to the appropriate sub-object.
You can copy or move Clips between Collections, add Keywords to Episodes and Clips, and copy or move Keywords between groups. Some cut, copy, and paste options affect multiple objects. If you copy a Collection and paste it in another Collection, all the Clips in the first Collection will be copied to the second. If you copy a Keyword into a Collection, that Keyword will be applied to all the Clips in the Collection. You can load a Clip by double-clicking on it in the Episode Clips tab.
