Creating a clip Once you've created a collection, you can populate the collection with clips. You must have time codes in your transcript to add a clip. The video displayed as the clip will begin from the last time code preceding your selected segment to the first time code following it. To create a clip to a collection: 1. Select the segment of the episode transcript. 2. After you select the segment, move your mouse pointer over the segment. 3. Hold down your left mouse button and drag the segment to the collection in the database tree. 4. Release the mouse button. 5. Drag the selected text to the collection in the database tree. 6. In the Add Clip dialog box, enter the name of the clip ID. 7. Click OK. You have added a clip to your collection.
Note: You should place time codes at the exact points you would like your clip to begin and end. This ensures the video clip and the transcript text match. Note: You can specify the order of the clips in each collection. When you add a new clip by pasting or dropping text on a collection name, Transana puts the clip at the end of the list of clips in the collection. If you want to place the new clip in a specific place in the list, you can paste or drop the transcript text into the list of clips where you want the new clip to appear. You can then reorder existing clips in the database tree by cutting and pasting them to the desired location.
