About waveforms

A waveform is a bitmap representation of the intensity of the episode's sound. Once generted, the waveform is stored in a file. Every time you view the video, Transan displays the waveform in the Visualization window. This visual representation can be extremely useful for precise navigation within a video because it enables you to insert time codes more accurately.

You can zoom in and out on the waveform using the zoom buttons with the magnifying glass icons in the lower left-hand corner of the Visualization window.

To zoom in:

1. Select the segment of the waveform you would like to examine more closely.

2. Press the Zoom In button.
