The database structure of version 1.21 (and earlier) is subtly different than later versions of Transana. In addition, the Transana conversion utility assumes that users are converting from Transana 1.22 or later. In order to upgrade from pre-1.22 versions, you need to first upgrade to Transana 1.24, then upgrade to version 2.0x.

Once you have upgraded to Transana 1.22, you should open each of your databases, then close them again. The process of opening and closing the database applies the version 1.22 enhancements to the data structure. You can then follow the directions for migrating data to version 2.0x.
