Data Migration Guide For users of version 1.24 or earlier. Move your data safely to a new version of Transana.

Transana Multi-User Version

You don't need to take any special steps to move your data from version 1.22-MU or 1.23-MU to the most current multi-user version of Transana, which is version 1.24. Likewise, when version 2.0 of the multi-user version is released, it will require no data migration steps.

Moving from the Single-User Version to the Multi-User Version

This is a feature that will be available with the release of Transana 2.0-MU.

Moving from the Multi-User Version to the Single-User Version

At this time, there is no sanctioned mechanism for transferring Transana 1.24-MU data to the single-user version of Transana 2.0. That capacity will be included in Transana 2.0-MU when it is complete.

If you really want to make the jump and give up the ability to have multiple people working on the data, you can use the Transana Database Utility that came with Transana 1.2x-MU to transfer your MU data to a Transana 1.2x single-user database, then follow the appropriate instructions in this data migration guide to complete the process. However, this process is neither recommended nor supported.
