About Collections
A collection is a group of conceptually-based video segments created from you episodes. Use your collections as containers to organize and retrieve your clips. Within the Transana user interface, you can find each collection you create by locating the collection icon on the data window.

Creating a Collection
To create a collection follow the steps below.

  1. On the data window, right click "Collections" (see the figure on the right).
  2. Select Add Collection.
Note: You will see the "Add Collection" menu (see the figure to the lower right).
  3. In the "Collection ID" box, enter the title for the collection you are adding to Transana.
  4. In the "Owner" box, enter your name or the person's name who is responsible for the collection.
  5. In the "Title/Comment" box, enter additional comments about your collection.
    Note: This step is optional.

After you add clips to this collection, Transana will designate a default keyword group.
