About Video Presentations
Once you have used Transana to transcribe and analyze your data, the final step is to share that data with others. You can use the Presentation mode in Transana to share your data.

Using Presentation Mode
In presentation mode, you can play a video using the full screen, or display only the video window (across the top of the screen) and the transcript window (across the bottom). Presentation Mode, selected in the Options Menu, offers three choices that affect the way Transana presents video during playback.

  • "All Windows," the default setting, shows all Transana windows during video playback.
  • "Video Only" displays the video window full screen when the video is playing.
  • "Video and Transcript Only" displays the video in the top 70% of the screen and displays the transcript, with scrolling highlight if Auto Word-tracking is enabled, in the bottom 30% of the screen.

To use the Presentation mode, follow the directions below.

  1. On the Options menu, click Presentation mode
  2. Click Video Only
  3. Double-click the name of a clip (Houses, for example)
  4. Click the play button on the Video window control bar

To return to regular operation, follow these directions

  1. On the Options menu, click Presentation Mode
  2. Click All Windows

Some things to keep in mind about the Presentation Mode
The following tips are helpful when using presentation mode.

  • Transana uses the entire monitor to play the clip.
  • The control bar is still visible at the bottom of the screen so that you can stop or restart the clip as necessary.
  • When the clip finishes playing, the other windows return.
  • Try selecting Video and Transcript Only instead of Video Only.
  • Notice the transcript window at the bottom of the screen.

Using Transana with Power Point
You cannot use Transana Clips in Power Point as you can with raw video. Transana doesn't edit the video but loads the full video and positions it according to the stored Clip data. We recommend running Transana and Power Point simultaneously. Run Transana in the Presentation Mode with all the Clips stored in a custom Collection.

Hold the alt and tab keys to switch windows between your presentation and the display of your Clips within Transana. This method is easier than custom-editing video for a presentation.
